Crantock is separated from the busy resort of Newquay by the River Gannel. The village has an atmosphere of rather sleepy old world charm stirring into a little more action during July and August when the holiday season is at its busiest. It is situated just above Crantock Bay with its vast golden sandy beach, unspoilt coast and headlands. Most of the surrounding coast including Crantock Beach, West Pentire, Polly Joke and the Kelseys is owned by the National Trust which has helped to preserve and maintain this spectacularly beautiful area.
